App Store license

The Mac App Store version of FoldTone is licensed under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These product notes explain how FoldTone works and do not replace or limit that license or your mandatory consumer rights.

Purchases

Purchases, availability, and refund requests are handled through Apple under its applicable terms. FoldTone’s core features are free. FoldTone Pro is an optional, one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the features described in the purchase screen. There is no subscription. The App Store displays the applicable local price before purchase. Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used to buy Pro. Refunded or revoked purchases no longer unlock Pro; restoring folder icons remains free.

Folder customization

FoldTone changes custom folder icon metadata for folders you authorize. It does not edit the documents inside those folders. Appearance and icon refresh behavior can vary by macOS version, storage provider, and folder permissions. Automatic aging and content updates run while FoldTone is open. Restore Default asks macOS to remove the custom icon and use the system default, which may vary by folder type.

Your artwork

You retain rights to the artwork and presets you create or import. You are responsible for having permission to use and share that artwork. FoldTone does not upload or publish it.
